Welcome to the photography world of Timothy Dolph. A world filled with images of Fetish models, hotrods, monsters, and vintage pin-ups.
Breaking into the photography art scene full speed in early 2000, Tim hit the fetish scene full speed and hasn’t looked back since. “I have always wanted to learn photography, but just never really got around to it. Soon after I got my first manual film camera off eBay, I read anything and everything I could get my hands on about to make a proper image. I must have filled up an entire dumpster with prints and negatives. And apart from taking a beginning black and white photo course at the local university, I’m pretty much self-taught.”
“I know that I get my artist DNA from my dad,” says the photographer with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a native to New Orleans. “It really came naturally for me. I dig how the physics and art combine to create a great photograph. That’s why I am always experimenting with different models, styling themes, mixed lighting and shooting different mediums like digital, Polaroids, infrared, medium format and 35mm film. And then I will post-process everything by different methods just to add a finishing touch.”
After shooting friends, pets, flowerbeds, and all of the neighborhood mailboxes, he decided to turn his lens to this favorite subject…pretty girls. “I have always been a fan of the vintage pin-up artists like George Petty and Gil Elvgren. I remember the first model airplane (B-17 bomber) I built when I was a kid. It contained two Vargas pin-up decals to be applied as nose art on the airplane. I put them on the front of my Big Wheel instead.”
The softer side of Tim’s photography is a still of a woman quickly adjusting her lingerie in an elevator just before the door opens, a latex clad model in a cat suit stretching out on a chaise lounge, and a sexy long legged model with her thong caught in her stiletto heel.
The silly sexy side of his work includes a threesome of sexy pinups cheating at strip poker, an Audry Hepburn look-a-like model giving an upskirt shot while having breakfast outside of Tiffany & Co., and a trouble maker fetish ballerina in “My Mom Made Me Take This Class.”
“Dolph uses irony, humor, innocence and seduction in so much of his work,” says a friend. “It’s not trashy and it doesn’t go overboard with in-your-face nudity. He has been shooting pretty girls long enough that he doesn’t seem obsessed by one project. You can detect themes but you won’t be hit over the head with any repetitive-looking photo projects. It’s just cool, funny, hot art. It’s the stuff that people will definitely notice hanging in your house.”
Tim’s work has appeared in over 35 international magazines and art books including Playboy, Penthouse, Cosmopolitan, Maxim, Stuff, FHM, Men’s Health, Muscle and Fitness, Skin Two and Marquis to name a few. His fine art has shown in galleries in Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, and Miami. And look for his Erotic Signature Gallery tour in Miami, New York, Los Angles, London and Amsterdam in mid 2008.
Tim’s motto is simple. He shoots what he loves – Fetish, Hotrods, Monsters, and Vintage pin-ups; he shoots the simple, complex and extraordinary of them all. He sums it up: “I’m one who loves the anticipation and the excitement of the journey rather than just the final destination. I always tell people that it is not about what my photos show, it’s more about what they suggest…kinda like a really good striptease.”
Timothy Dolph currently resides in Atlanta, GA USA and now shoots for Hooters Magazine and Hooters.com (gotta pay the bills)

Dear Tim,
I am the Associate Curator and Director of Acquisitions for the Erotic Heritage Museum which is scheduled to open Las Vegas in December 2007. I would very much like your work either shown permanently or schedule an exhibition.
Please contact me at 415.577-3003 to further discuss. Should my mailbox be filled, I do apologize. I am in Venice, Italy right now securing erotic glass for the grand opening and I can’t seem to keep up with calls while abroad.
Best, Laura
